WELCOME TO THIS WEEK'S FLOCKNOTE
The readings of today remind us to see God’s work in our lives and our community. The readings focus on the joy and blessings we receive from God, encouraging us to use our gifts and work together in unity. In Isaiah, we hear of God’s promise to bring joy to His people, showing His faithful love. Paul’s letter explains that the Holy Spirit gives each of us unique gifts, like wisdom, knowledge, and faith, meant to help and strengthen the community. This message calls us to recognize and share these gifts, knowing each one has purpose and value.
Unity in diversity is another important lesson from Paul’s message. Though we are all different, our gifts come from the same Spirit, meant to unite, not divide. When we embrace our differences and use our gifts together, we create a community that reflects God’s love. This way of living shows that diversity can bring us closer to each other and build a stronger Church.
The Gospel tells of Jesus’ first miracle at the wedding in Cana, where He turned water into wine. This miracle shows Jesus’ care for others and His ability to bring newness and joy. Mary’s role in this story also stands out. She notices the need, asks Jesus for help, and trusts in His power. Her actions inspire us to turn to Jesus with trust, knowing He can help and renew us.
So, we are encouraged to use our gifts, to live in unity, and to trust Jesus. We are also invited to see God’s presence in our lives and to live with faith and purpose. Let us take a few moments to reflect on these themes in our own lives. How are you using your gifts to help others? Are there areas where you can build unity with those around you? Let us ask God to help us remain faithful to his words.

The Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) will be offered for persons wishing to explore the Catholic Faith, its beliefs and practices. Both Catholics and non-Catholics are welcome to attend a series of video presentations with discussions/sharing afterwards.

Our Life Matters Core Group will offer the 9am Mass on third Wednesday of the month for the Protection of All Human Life. Mass to be followed by a Rosary in Reverence for Life. Everyone is welcome!
St. John's Holy Face Group:
St. John's Holy Face Group (meets on the last Thursday of the month), following the noon Mass. Our monthly gatherings will last no longer than one hour and will provide an opportunity to pray, share and learn about this powerful, Church-approved Holy Face devotion of reparation. Spiritual Reflections with Archbishop Mulhall
Wednesdays; 7:00 pm
St. Mary’s Cathedral (279 Johnson Street, Kingston)
I look forward to our time together of spiritual reflection in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. Throughout my priesthood and especially in the past several years, these moments of prayer and reflection together have been deeply rewarding for me.
I propose to reflect with you on the Beatitudes of St. Matthew’s Gospel Chapter 5 as well as a series of Psalms of the Old Testament which we pray each day at Mass. As usual, we will also give time to the liturgical celebrations of Lent/Easter as we pass through the year.
It is good to remember that there is no starting point or end point as in a series of lectures or an academic course. Though we refer to previous reflections, we repeat our thoughts frequently so that anyone can join at any stage or miss weeks without losing any necessary points or developments. I like to think of our reflections as one long continuous series of reflections on a mystery from countless starting points. All these reflections I pray will be beneficial for us at whatever time of life or stage of our spiritual pilgrimage. The Lord, in whose presence we will pray together will always provide the grace, consolation, and strength that we need to make steady progress in our life of faith.
Pilgrims of Hope – Visiting Rome: Spiritual and cultural tour, accompanied by Msgr. Joseph Muldoon, of Holy Spirit Parish (Stittsville), for the Jubilee Holy Year April 21 – May 5, 2025.
