WELCOME TO THIS WEEK'S FLOCKNOTE
20th Sunday in Ordinary Time
I do reflect sometimes that the greatest prayer is not the prayer we say beautifully, but the prayer we refuse to stop praying. Today, Jesus meets a Canaanite woman who is desperate for her daughter. She is an outsider, yet she comes to Jesus with remarkable faith: “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David.”
Initially, Jesus seems silent. Then comes a difficult response from Jesus. Yet the woman does not walk away. Instead, she kneels and says simply, “Lord, help me.” Her persistence reveals something profound: faith is not always getting an immediate answer; sometimes faith is holding on to God when the answer seems delayed.
We all know something about this woman. A parent who keeps praying for a struggling child. A family that refuses to give up on someone who has wandered away. Someone who quietly says every morning, “Lord, just give me strength for today.”
That is faith. St. Paul assures us that “the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.” God does not give up on us.
So today, bring your impossible situation to Jesus. Kneel before Him. Cry if you must. Ask again. Trust again. Because the hands that seemed silent are still the Hands of Mercy.
Likewise at this Eucharist, we discover the greatest answer to every prayer: Jesus Himself. When we receive Him, we receive not merely what we ask for, but the One our hearts ultimately need.
Lord, increase our faith, especially when You seem silent. Teach us never to give up on Your mercy. Amen.

200th Anniversary Bicycle Pilgrimage
What an incredible journey! The 200th Anniversary Bicycle Pilgrimage was a tremendous success, covering an amazing 200 miles and filled with wonderful people, prayer, song, Scripture, and faith.
A heartfelt thank you to all who participated, and to everyone who supported the pilgrimage through accommodations, meals, prayers, encouragement, or otherwise. And a very special thank you to Terry Stewart and his team of organizers, who took this wonderful idea from vision to reality and created such a memorable celebration of faith and community. Job well done!

Update: I know that there are many who have expressed interest in joining us but are (understandably) taking a wait-and-see approach to register. But if you're seriously interested in this pilgrimage, please secure your spot by completing the registration forms and returning them with a copy of your passport. Note that we will not charge any payments until we know for sure we are going (however, anyone intending to pay by credit card must complete the credit card section). But it's important to secure your spot because there's very high demand and you don't want to miss this opportunity.
