WELCOME TO THIS WEEK'S FLOCKNOTE
PARTICIPATING IN THE DIVINE NATURE AND ATTRIBUTES OF GOD
We are called to share in one of the Divine attributes of God – FORGIVENESS. It is part of human condition to sin, while forgiveness remains a divine attribute of God. To forgive, therefore, is to participate in one of the most important attributes and nature of God.
When one sins, one acts humanly and when one forgives, one acts divinely. This therefore reminds us that we are all sinners in need of God’s forgiveness. So, to be forgiven, we must first forgive others. This is reflected in the prayer our Lord Jesus taught us “FORGIVE US OUR SINS AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO SINNED AGAINST US”.
Forgiving others therefore becomes a conditio sine qua non (an essential condition) for the forgiveness of our own sin. It is pertinent to note that forgiveness is not only about forgiving others, but also about forgiving ourselves for past mistakes that seem to be haunting us, even after receiving forgiveness from God at the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Believe and trust in God that whatever He has forgiven is forgiven indeed.
May the God of healing and restoration heal our spiritual wounds, restore in us peace and joy, and grant us the grace to be a forgiving people after the mind of Christ.

Leave the stipend in the offertory plate, in an envelope clearly marked “Mass Intentions” with who the mass is for and who it is from (inside with your money), or you can mail/drop off directly at the Parish Office. SACRAMENTS:
First Communion & Confirmation Sacramental Preparation Registration is beginning for children wishing to prepare for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation to be celebrated in Spring 2027.
A mandatory parent meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd at 7:00pm at St. John the Baptist Church, Perth. At least one parent of each child wishing to participate in this year’s sacramental preparation classes must attend.
We look forward to welcoming our families as we begin this special year of preparation!
Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) Persons interested in learning more about the Catholic Church - its beliefs and practices - are invited to participate in a series of conversations (formerly RCIA) that will be held at 15 Church St, Tuesday evenings at 7 pm, starting September 15th.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to all who participated in our annual “Change for Life” baby bottle campaign. We surpassed our goal and raised over $46,000, which will help us in our mission to assist women facing unplanned or difficult pregnancies. Parishioners at St. John the Baptist parish donated $2327.00. We are grateful and blessed with your continued support. Thank you to the Knights of Columbus for assisting with distribution and collection of baby bottles.
